FIRE IN THE SKY 2008 at Waterfront Lahug

Waterfront Lahug at the forefront of Chinese New Year Celebrations

Legend has it that Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one, in the order that they arrived. The people born in each animal’s year are said to have some of that animal’s personality.

This February 7, 2008 marks the beginning of the 4706th Chinese year, the Year of the Rat. Those born in rat years tend to be leaders, pioneers, and conquerors. They are charming, passionate, charismatic, practical, and hardworking, and thus are generally wealthy and professionally successful in their lives.

At the forefront of the longest and most important celebration in the Chinese calendar is Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino with food, fireworks and Chinese cultural presentations. On February 6, the eve of the New Year, the celebration begins at 6:30PM at the Lobby Lounge with a series of lion and dragon dances, a martial arts exhibition and a kung fu demonstration. A stunning fireworks extravaganza complements this exhilarating display of movement at 9:00PM. TIN GOW, the City’s premier Chinese restaurant prepares special set menus deserving of such a momentous celebration, beginning at P3,888 for a group of 3-4 persons.

Reservations are highly recommended; call 232-6888 local 8201. Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino is located on Salinas Drive, Lahug.
