Waterfront Cebu hosts first Disciples D’ Escoffier Dinner in Cebu

LAST April 7, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino hosted the first-ever Disciples D’ Escoffier Dinner and Oath Taking Ceremony in Cebu.

Disciples Escoffier is an organization which honors the memory of Auguste Escoffier, Master of the French and International Cuisines. The purpose is to promote the big traditions of cooking and the techniques created by Auguste Escoffier in particular in schools, secondary, superior or Chef professional training, as well as in apprenticeship.

A sumptuous dinner was held at La Gondola which started off with Gensan tuna done in three ways – mousse, seared and chips. Bohol Prawn Bouillabaisse with Shrimp Jelly for the soup, and was followed by Bulalo Risotto with Bone Marrow. For the main event was Premium Australian Lamb Rack, Mint Butter, Bell Pepper and Zucchini Shavings, Layered Polenta and Red Wine Jus. To cap off the meal, Cebu Mango and Chocolate Sphere with Hot Caramel, Calamansi Rum Sauce was served.

The dinner was graced by the Founding President of Disciples de Escoffier International Asia – Philippines Delegation, Chef Philip John Golding, Secretary General Ms. Donna Sheryl Chua, Corporate Chef Giovanni Sias, Executive Chef Linda Hou, General Manager Mr. Anders Hallden. 4TH OF JULY LUNCHEON AT CAFÉ UNO

WATERFRONT INSULAR HOTEL DAVAO selected guests have been invited to an intimate luncheon on Monday, the 4th of July.

Café Uno, one of the hotel’s main restaurants, went Red, White, and Blue in celebration of American Independence and the Filipino-American Friendship Day. The menu featured an all-American buffet of famous recipes like Cajun Seafood, Chili Fries, Mac and Cheese with Truffles, Cowboy Ribs, and Corn Bread, and a bucketful of hot and spicy Buffalo Wings, to name a few.

Together with the celebration of the historic 4th of July, WIHD introduces its quarter-round American-themed lunch Buffet and other dining options for July to September. At La Parilla, one may savor a hearty and authentic hotpot Shabu Shabu meal daily from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm, best enjoyed with a bowl of rice and five (5) other friends. BUNNY THE EXPLORER

An exciting trip around the world is in store for kids at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino for its annual easter egg hunting activity, Bunny the Explorer on March 27, 2016 from 1:00-4:00 PM.

This year, the hotel’s different food outlets along its famous Gourmet Walk will make way for Bunny the Explorer as he takes kids on different adventures to China at Tin Gow, Japan at Mizu, Italy at La Gondola, France at Madeleine and back to the Philippines at UNO. Different activities await the participating children during the event including varied workshops ranging from pizza making, cupcake decorating, onigiri making and mini pao decorating, as well as bubble shows, magic shows, face painting, balloon twisting and the much-awaited Easter egg hunt.

Tickets are at PHP 600 prt child and one guardian, and are available at the hotel’s lobby. A single receipt worth P 2,000 at any of the hotel’s food outlets is also equivalent to one ticket to the Bunny the Explorer Easter event.

CHINESE NEW YEAR

The most sought-after Chinese celebration is the Chinese New Year which is observed depending on the Lunar Calendar. During this event, there are traditions that are practiced to usher in wealth, abundance and happiness.

For the past years, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino has thrown one of the most awaited Chinese New Year celebrations. The grand welcoming of the new year is done with exciting merriments to bring luck and prosperity, which a lot of people look forward to.

This year, there will be two events to welcome the Year of the Monkey.
